Just a bit of my journey in design:

I’ll be real, I basically got into design back in 2018 because I needed to. One of those “see a need, fill a need” sort of things. My church college ministry had just lost their graphic designer, and I had just enough experience to step up. However, it didn’t exactly take long for me to find myself loving the power of visual storytelling. As a lifelong musician and worship leader, I believe stories are one of the most powerful things that can foster real connection and harness true emotion. Without stories, a product is just material, code, physical matter. And humans are more than material—they’re spiritual, emotional, and deeply driven by a desire for connection and purpose.

In my opinion, design should be that—a method by which we connect with people and their stories.

I continued to pursue design in churches, serving in my own as well as contracting for others. Eventually I became interested in branding—more specifically, the ability to use a brand identity to create instant recognition and connection with people.

In 2022, I stepped out of part-time into full-time graphic design—moving from an entry level designer to senior in just 3 years.

I’m highly driven by my faith and my family—two of the things that give me the greatest purpose in my life. Outside of that, I believe I’m called to create, called to represent the Creator God. People are more than their transaction, demographic, or financial status. They’re uniquely created in the image of God, and deserving of having their stories told.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

[Colossians 3:23-24]
